Sensors covered by bespoke frame?

Having just bought a 55" Frame TV, I now gather that if you buy a bespoke wooden frame for it, it covers the motion and light sensors. ā˜¹ļø

This sounds like a real nuisance - especially for a TV designed to take bespoke frames - but I just wondered if anyone has found a way round this problem, or has any advice on the subject? Does it affect all frames other than the small ones supplied by Samsung?

Thanks.

We have a Samsung frame tv and the Samsung optional bezels. They fit perfectly and there's a cutout on the bottom section for the sensor. Did you buy the bezels from Samsung or aftermarket?

Thanks for your reply. We haven't bought a wooden frame yet - the only Samsung frames I've found are the 4 small magnetic ones (white, gold and 2 browns). Do they supply others as well or is everything else left to the aftermarket? If so, I wonder if some of the third party suppliers also provide a cutout for the sensor(s). The ones we've looked at so far all have a small warning notice at the bottom mentioning that "Our TV frames will cover the motion and light sensor". Arggggh!

Thanks to Google, I have just found this Are the Samsung Frame TV's Sensor's blocked when a frame is added? which shows an innovative solution to the problem - Smart Room Sensor (SRS-2) - produced by a small business in the US. I just hope it will work in the UK. Can't think why Samsung doesn't produce something similar.

Has anyone seen any other similar product to this, or used an SRS-2?

With reference to my last post about the Smart Room Sensor (SRS-2), I emailed the company producing it with a few questions and have just received a reply.

Sadly it discourages me from purchasing the device and concludes "...Unfortunately, the SRS2 device does not function as well as we had hoped, as many of Samsung's firmware features are restricted from external control, limiting compatibility with the SRS2. This restriction affects accessibility to certain functionalities within their system."

So unfortunately it will not provide the solution I was hoping for.
