Q80T - Mute icon flashing

I've searched this and seen a number of similar posts, but no answers to resolve the situation.

I am not using a sound bar or any external speakers, or connecting to any bluetooth service. Just the TV and its internal speakers.

When I select mute on the remote, the mute icon repeatedly flashes on the screen. If I want silence without the flashing icon, I have to turn the volume to zero.

Is there a way to mute the TV and the icon disappears as opposed to flashing constantly, or is this a 'feature' to remind you that you've muted it?

Any information would be helpful.

It's both a feature to remind you the TV is muted and a feature to keep the mute icon from burning into the screen.

I meant to say thank you for this. Ensures I don't keep spending time searching for a solution to something that is a feature.
