Samsung Apps and Serviceswhy do I need the number, I have the email that is attached to the account? is there a way to get around the verification? there must not be a system that arbitrarily locks people out.

Samsung Apps and ServicesIt is a security measure for your own protection. Maybe everyone you know knows your email address, maybe everyone does not know the number currently associated with your account (especially if it's an old one). If there was a way to get around the verification, it wouldn't be very secure, would it? Again, how did the account password get changed if you didn't change it, and why didn't you change the number associated with your account when you got your new number? You may be able to call Samsung, and after a series of challenges verifying your identity, they *may* give you access to your account. It's easier just to create a new one.

Samsung Apps and ServicesI have to keep my accounts on one email. dont want two accounts.
there is no reason to have a system that locks you out and you cant recover the account. it does not work that way. I am not an **bleep**, I use a phone number with voip technology and it forwards the code. not like someone who gives out a personal phone number to everyone.
made it a long time ago and have since retired the number. maybe someone changed that password. need the account.
I did call samsung but it was not a technician it was a call center, I need to talk to someone who has access to the account system.

Samsung Apps and ServicesYes, there is a reason to lock someone out of an account until they can prove their identity. It absolutely does work that way. If security measures are too hard for you to understand, perhaps you should not be using modern technology. If your bank locked you out of your account, you would undergo a series of challenge questions to regain access. If you fail those challenges, no access.
Unless you only had the number for five minutes, you should remember the number. I am 7 decades old and I remember every single phone number I ever had (or I have a record of it somewhere, as they are often used for identity checks). I have only ever had one cell phone number. If someone changed your password without you knowing about it, then that account is compromised, and you should create a new account. It is also quite possible that if someone did compromise your account, they also changed the phone number associated with it, and it would not be yours, so you wouldn't be able to prove it's your account anyway. I don't know why you "need to have all your accounts under one email", but obviously that is not going to be possible. Call Samsung again, and ask for someone in a supervisory capacity or the IT department. Once again, IF YOUR ACCOUNT PASSWORD WAS CHANGED WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE, IT'S A COMPROMISED ACCOUNT AND SHOULD NOT BE USED. However, I do think that Samsung does have a way to recover the account other than trying to have you remember an old phone number. You never answered the question on why you never changed the phone number on the account.
