After a recent upgrade to One UI 8.0, programs within Secure Folder cannot access files also within Secure Folder.

In particular, the Secure Folder versions of Snapseed (photo editing), Protonmail, and Discord cannot find secured files.  Google photos, and Samsung Gallery seem unaffected.

Any help?

Hope you had a Smart Switch backup of the secure folder to restore from. ☹️

Naw all I have is my old phone so data since I got this phone and smart switched over to it is gone. Everything since I got this phone in that folder is gone. Im glad that phone somehow still was in my private accounts 2 factor auth because google was definitely not trying to let me back into that account. So for real for future caution to someone out there who might find this message one day. DO NOT PRESS "Reflection test". there's another test in there called the koin test or something. I'm done though not even going to consider touching that button. We all gotta wait until Samsung fixes this.

That as well as circle to search doesn't work. I upgraded to Samsung for the secure folder feature and it's ruined. Can't access files in secure folder from apps installed in secure folder.

Does anyone know if this issue exists on the Galaxy S tablets too? The One UI 8 update is now available for my Tab S9 too but I don't want to update it if secure folder is broken on it too. Thanks!

Samsung just pulled the One UI 8 update for S23 series for unstated reasons. Wish I had waited before updating. Hope this mess gets fixed in the next release.

I'm facing the exact same issue since I updated to OneUI 8.0, some days ago.

When trying to upload something using Google Drive app, it shows only content outside of the Secure Folder.

The only way to make it work, is by uploading things using "share" function inside Samsung Gallery, which is working fine.

Obviously that's not a normal behaviour or "working as it should", since I could always do it before this upgrade. Samsung's answer on this topic is kinda embarassing.

I just received an answer about this issue after reporting it through the members app:

  • After verification by the development department, I inform you that the issue seems to be connected to Google services.

Our developers report the issue to Google to find a solution.

I therefore invite you to wait for the update request on your device or search for it yourself in Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install.

Thank you for contacting us, and remember that we are always here to help!

    Have a nice day!

So, I suppose we wait for an update now.

Thanks for posting Samsung's response here GCocch. Hopefully, the next update is released soon and fixes all the issues with Secure Folder.🤞

Same issue, cannot access anything inside secure folder when I'm trying to upload something with a browser. Annoying.
