Samsung Apps and ServicesHi,
My wifi was disconnected two days by something called smartview. I only became aware of this just now when i got a data warning while at home saying i had used nearly the whole month's data, as my phone was still disconnected from my home wifi two days later. This is extremely annoying and potentially quite costly. What on earth is this stupid app doing interefering with my phone like this?

Samsung Apps and ServicesThank you. It's cost me an entire month's data. Not very intelligent or smart is it.
I'd quite like some kind of acknowledgement from Samsung. I did not ask for their stupid smartview app to disconnect me from my home wifi for days on end costing me all that data.

Samsung Apps and ServicesIt is, if your internet connection is not stable. I would investigate that. It will not switch to mobile unless the internet network you are on is unstable. It shouldn't turn wi-fi off, though--it would just switch, and neither should smart view. If smart view does occasionally turn it off, it will turn it back on. I see I have one instance of SmartView turning my wi-fi off in the wee hours of the morning in early July for whatever reason, but my wi-fi was never off and certainly did not remain off. When an app finds it necessary to turn off a connection, it turns it back on when it's done with whatever it is doing.
Again, it's not on Samsung if you don't watch your status bar to see that you are on mobile data and not wi-fi--that's user error. More than likely you accidentally hit the Wi-Fi icon in your quick panel to turn it off yourself while doing something else. You can always turn mobile data off until you want to use it. You can also set a limiter in your connection settings to stop all internet activity over mobile when it hits that point. Go to settings/connections/data usage/billing cycle and data warning. Then input your billing cycle end date set either or both data limit and data warning. In the Data warning field, set the data limit when you want the phone to warn you that you are nearing your data limit. If you set a data limit, it will stop accessing mobile data at the level you set. So, if you had a 10 gb data plan, you would set your data warning at around 8 gb and your data limit at 10.
