Do I need a Sims card to get updates?

I never receive any updates for my Galaxy Tablet S10 Plus 5G ...SM-X282U (T-Mobile Network)....

I don't have a sim card installed and I never had an account with T-Mobile...

I surly don't need a sim card installed to get updates, do I?

I am still on Android 14 and when I go to updates it says I have the latest version which is untrue.

I have the same tablet, locked to T-Mobile without a SIM card, I've never had a T-Mobile account and I am receiving updates just fine including One UI 7.
