One UI 8 update sucks on Tab S10+

Was just forced to update to One UI 8 (system scheduled an update and there was no way to abort or change the date even with developer mode options) and I have to say, I absolutely hate everything about this update.

Samsung, what were you thinking? My Tab S10+ is my primary work device that I purchased specifically because old Dex mode provided the perfect bridge between tablet and PC when I needed it, and I spent probably 75% of my time in old Dex for productivity.

Your new Dex mode is horrible. It is the opposite of productivity. Its clunky, and unintuitive. This is exactly the kind of update that will end up with me putting my Samsung device back on the shelf and going back to a laptop full time.

I also find it ridiculous that you force users who don't have the forsight to turn off automatic updates to move forward with an update after that update just schedules itself. There was no option for me to abort the update. I would have gladly accepted the security or software stability risks for the sake of keeping the old OS.

I'm sure this feedback will fall on deaf ears as I have read that old Dex is not coming back, but you should know the impact that your updates have on heavy productivity users.

It's horrible. It's so off putting and feels like a leap backwards not a step forward

You missed the point of what I was saying. You should be able to back out of a scheduled update and remain on the current version you like. You can do this through the developer options, but you have to know that ahead of time in order to avoid the automatic forced update.

Updates aren't optional

They are, and have been for years in the developer setting just like the man explained it to you. I haven't updated my S9 Ultra in 2 years. Commenting just to comment is pointless as it helps nobody.

Hi I have the same issue! I've talked to tech support multiple times and even wrote a letter to their president to return the old version of Dex. They told me that if there will be more requests to their tech support to return Dex, they will do it. Please go to Samsung official website and contact tech support so that they know that there are a lot of us!
