Is it the case that when you remote-erase a Tab S2, it also erases the SD card?

I had an SD card from another Samsung tablet I wanted to pull pictures from, and when I put it in my old Tab S2 and turned it on, it wanted a password I couldn't get it to accept.  I was hoping to just turn it on, connect it to my laptop, and copy the DCIM folder over.  So I noticed I could remotely erase it from the web which I then thought would allow me to reinitialize it, and then proceed to access the SD card, but after going trough the initialization of the tablet, I looked on the SD card with the file manager and it seemed empty?   !!!

Hello there! 🙂 The remote erase function should have zero bearing on the contents of your SD card. This feature only accesses the internal memory of the device. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to remotely delete the content on an SD card, barring having a 3rd party app provide this capability.
