Spell check constantly disappears

I am getting increasingly annoyed with Samsung's keyboard. I love the CTRL and delete buttons but spell check is constantly not working. The moment I switch to Gboard, spell check works. But swapping apps, the red line disappears. I love the Samsung keyboard layout, but this is ridiculous. It was working fine until 6.1 UI

I am on a Tab S9. My phone suffers the same issue, but using Gboard there is not a negative due to keyboard layouts for phone vs tablet.
