TabletsThe latest update to go on my Tab A7 Lite apparently bricked my device. It is stuck in Download Mode with the comment "Build-id does not match with the reference"
Samsung customer support says I have to send it in on my own dime to get it repaired. They also said it would be better to invest in a new device instead of fixing this one.
Is there a way for me to fix it on my own, or can an authorized repair shop do a quick flash and restore?
It feels horrible that a recommended software update would ruin my device, and customer service says to buy a new one. Does that not feel like a scam? "We ruined your device. Please spend money to fix your issue."

Find a local electronics shop and take it there, they most likely can solve your issue Samsung and any company at that would want you to purchase a new device.
