TabletsThe Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra deserve MONTHLY Security Patches like the Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy S23 Series and Galaxy S22 Series of phones. Truthfully, the same goes for the Tab S9 Series.
They're both $1000+ FLAGSHIP devices. They don't use the best components available (optical fingerprint scanner instead of the more secure Qualcomm 3D MAX ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, no Time of Flight sensor for AR applications like the iPad, etc) but I'm entirely willing to overlook that as long as long as they get the best software experience they possibly can.
This is not an impossible task nor unreasonable. You were willing to improve the software support on the Galaxy S20 Series of phones well after they were released. Why not do it again? Why not show some respect to your customers? The fact that my brand new Tab S10 Ultra gets less security patches than my almost 2 year old S23 Ultra is actually insane. As I write this, my S23 Ultra is on the October Security Patch while my Tab S10 Ultra is on the September Security Patch.
Either monthly security patches are an absolute joke/unnecessary and the software team shouldn't be updating the S24/S23/S22 Series of phones on a monthly basis, OR, y'all need to stop treating the FLAGSHIP Tab S-Series like your A-Series phones. If the Tab S10+ and Ultra are going to be getting 7 years of software updates, they should be QUALITY updates like their respective phone counterparts.
If you want people to take your Tablet S-line seriously for anything work related, it needs to be secure and treated seriously. One promised security update every 3-4 months does not cut it. Security needs to be monthly and PROMISED. (as in, the Tab S10+ and Ultra need to be placed in the MONTHLY section of this page: https://security.samsungmobile.com/workScope.smsb)
For my fellow Samsung users, please help spread this message. I hope if we're loud and persistent enough, Samsung will relent and make this happen.
Thanks for reading.
