Check your battery usage statistics. There are quite a few people having this issue because, for some reason, Google Play services is being abnormally active where it never used to be. If you see GPS at the very top of your list, that's the culprit. If your usage statistics disappeared, that's been happening, too. I don't think the two phenomena are unrelated. In the meantime, restarting the watch appears to mitigate this for a day or two. I have put in error reports on both things, you should too if you find either of the conditions above. I have taken to noting my battery level in the late evening and if it's below 50%, I give it a 10 minute booster charge so that it will last through the night to track my sleep. Also, prior to doing any of that, run a diagnostic on your battery to make sure it's still good.

They still do, but I think they are phasing it out there, too, since they are offering more storage on the newer ones. I think people need to face the reality that they do not need to keep anything and everything on their phones at all times and they can offload personal data and photos to a flash drive or other external device or cloud on a regular basis if they are running low on storage. The SD card is approaching floppy disk status as far as phones go.

Unless you are buying an iPhone, moving to Europe or Asia, then Google messages will be the default messaging app on any Android phone. Which is not to say that you still cannot use ANY messaging app you want (except Samsung). If you want RCS, Google messages is the only game in town. If you don't care about RCS, then any messaging app you can find in the Play store will do.

Yes, but that would be a tip for any concert. You all are specifically promoting BTS, not promoting a tip on how to use your camera at a concert. And, since you are promoting a band the team galaxy tag should be on all such posts.

I know the practical/impractical reality of a school environment. I was a tech coordinator and procurement officer in a school for in one of the largest school systems in the country for 25 years. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, and if that's toggling the hotspot off manually, then thats what you have to do. It's a simple tap of a quick panel icon. You can automate the toggle via a routine. You can also turn the smart board off when you leave one classroom for another. Which is more inconvenient - changing the passwotd multiple times a day or toggling the setting on and off or simply turning the smart board off? If a board is off, it can't connect. If another teacher turns it on, I assume that teacher will connect, which will prevent it from connecting to your device. If a school is going to provide smart boards, they should supply the means to connect to them or they should not provide them. Once again, the ONLY way your suggestion is going to get to the developers is to put in a feedback request via the support tab. FWIW, though, I agree there should be a connection limit setting for other practical reasons.

See, isnt it easy to tag these posts as promotions? I don't understand why they allow spam of this sort just because it's team Galaxy doing it, when other users get dinged for spamming.

In order to add digital IDs to any wallet the entity issuing the ID has to grant permission. So, if your state is not granting digital IDs, then no wallet will allow it. Some states have allowed them in Google wallet, but not Samsung. You can, however add a picture of your ID in the "other" category in Samsung wallet. It just won't be officially accepted. There is no law that says you can only use ine digital wallet, so you can alternate between two wallets, depending on what you need in a given instance.

Have you looked in your download folder? There is no specific permission for storage, because all apps have implicit permission for storage space. Tapping the download notification should bring you directly to the stored file. If it's a .pdf file, look in download/Adobe acrobat, as that would be the default location. Also, opening my files should show you thumbnails of recent files.

That should not be happening. Events like that either show up as a block of orange on the graph, or a large gap in the graph. It shouldn't reset. At worst it should show 2 sleep sessions. Can you share the part with the sleep graph? It's also possible that from 10 to 2 it didn't actually register you as asleep. Is your watch properly positioned on your wrist, are the sensors clean, is it snug enough?

I have not been having any issue with Samsung wallet on my watch. I can't say whether the same is true of my phone. I use Samsung wallet exclusively on my watch so I don't have to drag my phone out. I can say I probably used Samsung wallet on my phone maybe 3 times in the last 6 years.

I think the two issues are related because the reason I discovered that my usage history was gone was because of the abnormal battery drain and wanting to see what was causing it.

Just select "always show on both" dismissing a notification on one device will dismiss it on the other, so you don't have to dismiss it twice. Very few exceptions to that, as I find that when I get a calendar notification from Google calendar, dismissing it on my phone does not dismiss it from the watch, but dismissing it from the watch dismisses it from the phone. Same in reverse for the health app medication reminder, dismissing from the watch will not dismiss it from the phone, but dismissing it from the phone will dismiss it from the watch. I don't know why this is. Yes, you may be able to create a mode to mute notifications on the watch when it is not charging, but it's not necessary to turn off "sync with dnd", unless you include dnd in that particular mode. I do not believe you can automate the activation of the mode, but you can create a routine to add a button action to activate the mode when you put the watch on your wrist.

Seriously, all you have to do to disconnect from one screen/device to another is to turn off the hotspot when you leave one room and turn it on again in another. You shouldn't have to be changing your password each time. You can also configure the hotspot to turn off when no device is connected after a certain period of time, from 5 minutes to never. Also, there is no such thing on this site as "forwarding to the development team", as this is a peer to peer user help site. You must do this yourself by going to the support tab of the Members app and tapping the feedback link, selecting "others" and then prefacing your request with "this is a feature request". There is no guarantee it will ever be acted upon - that would depend on a) whether someone there thinks "hey, that's a great idea, why didn't we think of it" or b) how many requests they get for this or a similar feature. Once again, you should never have to be continually changing your hotspot password to disconnect from one screen to connect to another. As a teacher, though, your facility should be providing internet access to your teaching screens and you should be using Smart View to cast to those devices, not your own mobile data. Even first generation smart boards had some casting and connectivity ability.

Yeah, those are currently only moveable, not removable. Why do they bother you? The control panel screen is completely hidden until you pull it down to use something on it. You can move the icons you don't want out of your way if you don't use them. It's not as if they are front and center in your face at all times on the home screen. I know we all like our customizations, but you should be able to ignore things that you currently cannot do anything about. As was said, the ability to remove them is coming.

I did that the first time after the original post and it seem back to normal for a day but still at the top of the use list. I've since done it 3 times (at least) since then with no real improvement. But, I shouldn't have to keep clearing the cache (yes, I'm going to be one of those "I shouldn't have to" people, at least on this). 😀

Well, yesterday, before I went to bed my watch was a 37% battery and GPS was showing at 19% battery usage. I got home really late and did not have time to give it a 10 minute battery boost and woke up to 1% battery remaining (after only 5 hours). I truly do not know what's going on in the background there. I only know that if GPS was running in the background at any time in the past it was at the bottom of the battery usage list, not the top offender. I just put in an error report because as of right now (3:09 p.m.), after 5:27 off the charger, battery use for the app is at 6.3% and my battery is at 77% where it should be at 85%.

If you used the "switch" option in the Samsung messages app, it would have replaced your Samsung message icon with Google's. The two icons look similar, and both apps are simply called "messages" in the app drawer and on the home screen. Google's logo is a blue bubble on a white background with a right facing tale and Samsung's logo is a blue square on a white background with 3 dots in the middle of the blue square with a left facing tail.

And then you will still have Google messages as your default messaging app if you stick with Android. Just as with a Samsung phone, you can still use any other messaging app you want to if you don't want to use Google and are totally uninterested in utilizing RCS services.

I do it because it literally takes 10 seconds to collect the tickets and enter the sweepstakes and it costs me nothing (if I forget some days, nbd). I don't normally bother with any other activity because it only gives tokens and the month is over before you collect enough to "purchase" a coupon - which is usually out of stock by the time you have enough. Because they really, really, really don't want to give you anything for free, they just want you to visit the store every day.

Another thing, the status bar indicates that the VPN is active on the device you took the screenshot on. It may not show on the connected device, but since anyone connected to your hotspot is using the protected data stream, it should be acting as protection for that device as well.
