New A15 phone (a couple of months old). In the past month the screen has been getting progressively more glitchy. Today it was so bad that the notification panel has been swiping itself down and no other app could be opened.

Other days it has opened apps by itself and sent messages.

Often nothing can be done besides resetting the phone.

We have already tried restarting the phone in safe mode, which doesn't help.

Once it was so bad, the phone couldn't even be re-started. When the power button was pressed the power-off screen option disappeared right away and none of the options could be selected.

Turn off phone.
While powered down, press power key and volume up button simultaneously until the phone vibrates. Let go of buttons. You will now be in the bootloader. Using Volume buttons for scrolling, power button for Yes.
Scroll down to Wipe Cache Partition. Press power, scroll to Yes, press power. Reboot press power key.

What does the phone diagnostic show ? Take a screen shot of the results and post it here with all those problems it must be showing the glitches.

Funny I have a A15 5G phone for about 1 yr and never had one problem.

Cheers

Your phone is behaving as if it has some malware.  Have you run an antivirus scan? Have you done a diagnostic on the phone to make sure all its components are working properly?  If resetting the phone works, then reset it, only DON'T restore any backup, because if the backup contains malware, you will only bring it back and repeat the cycle.

After you reset your phone, change your Google, Samsung and email account passwords in case any malware collected those passwords.

I had an A15 before this phone and it had a glitch almost just like yours and I had remote support go through my phone and they found nothing. It turned out tou be 3 different things that caused the glitch. The first was swipe gestures, in your sounds and vibration setting i had to turn the haptic feedback vibration way down and turn it off for swipe. Also I had screen sensitivity on because I had a screen protector on it and the slightest touch would open the notification panel even if i was in an app touching the screen. So I turned that off. And last but not least I had an apps icon app that was causing the screen to lock up and I couldn't get in folders or it wouldn't accept input, so restarted. Got rid of that app and after all that the phone is still working like a champ. But the haptic feedback switches and your vibration strength need to be turned way down to help that glitchy screen. Hope it helps
