I use my fingerprint to unlock my phone, but sometimes I have to enter my password. A few days ago I changed my password. When I changed it, I entered the same password as the old one. The phone accepted it and everything worked. I used my fingerprint to unlock it again. Today the phone asked me to enter my password again, but it didn't accept my password. I can't unlock my phone anymore. Any advice?

I am 100% sure that I entered the correct password when changing it and that I am entering it now. I triple checked it. Maybe I have discovered a bug in the Samsung system.

I know, maybe it sounds childish, but if I really can't get into the phone, then this is my only insignificant option to boycott Samsung products.

It is me, I am the owner of the phone and if Samsung can't verify it, it is sad and I don't agree with this policy.

It is my decision not to use cloud solutions and my mistake not to make local backups, as well as relying on Samsung's functionality.
This is not a hardware problem, but an unacceptable security policy of Samsung for me.

The security policy would be the same with any brand. Forget your password, reset the phone. More power to you if you find a brand with a different policy, but you should find out before investing in another device, regardless of brand. The only policy that may be different is having to use your password every 72 hours. In either case, you will still lose your stuff. It's not going to carry over to a new device. Even if you bought a new Samsung for any reason, you cannot use smart switch to move your data over if your phone can't be unlocked. So, if you have to end up losing your stuff, you may as well keep the phone you have and reset it, rather that go to another brand.

Thank you for communicating with me. I understand your doubts, human error is the easiest and most likely answer. but as I wrote before, I am sure that I am using the correct password.

Let me summarize the whole situation in more detail once again.
I use my fingerprint to unlock the screen and I have to use my password once every 72 hours. About a week ago, my phone asked me to change this password. I used the new password the same as the old one. For the next 3 days, fingerprint unlocking worked again.
Then, when I had to use the password to unlock after 72 hours, I got an error. After 5 unsuccessful attempts, I was given the option to go back to the previous password when I forgot the new one. I chose it and changed my password. I used the same new password as the old one again. Now I checked it extra carefully, because I did not want to make any mistakes. For the next 3 days, fingerprint unlocking worked again. Today I had to enter the password to unlock and the password didn't work again. But this time the phone doesn't offer the forgotten password option.

That's why I say I'm 100% sure the password is correct. It's not about me forgetting it.

Ok, but I don't know why the phone asked you to change your password in the first place. Ive been using the same password on this and the previous phone for a combined 8 years and have never been asked to spontaneously update it. Could your phone have been compromised and some rougue app requested the password change and then intercepted your password and changed it to lock you out? That would be my only theory as to why you were asked to change your password in the first place. It is unfortunate but, really, the only way to get back into your phone would be to reset it and, if you have no backup anywhere (even an old one), you will have to set it up from scratch and lose your data. As I said, that would be the case even if you got a new phone. At least if you had utilized Google backup/sync, it wouldn't matter what brand you switch to, you'd still get your stuff back.

Same way you put it on, go to settings/lock screen and AOD/screen lick type and then remove your password.
