My Galaxy A51 performed an update, and now my battery is draining RIDICULOUSLY fast. I don't even have to use it, and the battery percentage just drops. I've already checked the battery usage for apps running and it's the same as it always was--nothing wrong there. The only thing that makes sense is that the update somehow is causing the battery to not hold the charge. Help! My phone has virtually become useless without a charging cord handy at all times.

Same thing happened to my A51 battery after the last update as well. I messaged Samsung support through my phone. (Settings - About phone - Contact us) Support was excellent. They connected me to a Samsung specialist right away who said the battery drain after an update was common. She told me to optimize the battery (Settings - Battery and device care - Optimize) and then calibrate the battery.
To calibrate -once you optimize the battery, let the phone drain the battery to 0%. Plug it in to charge back up to 100%. "Do not use the device unless it is fully charged."
Once I did this, my phone worked great!
I hope this helps.

That's very helpful--my experience with Samsung support was the opposite. He clearly didn't know how to answer my question and basically told me to take my phone to a repair shop. Useless. Thank you for sharing the solution you received!
