No longer able to access symbols on my Keyboard after update

I just updated my phone and i do not like the keyboard update. I have a galaxy A14. I can no longer hold down the leI just updated mytters to access the symbols. It what I loved most about it because it's quicker to type symbols. I don't know how to change it how it was before the update because I really loved the keyboard before the update.

Open the keyboard and on the toolbar click on the gear icon Scroll down to layout and make sure alternate characters is toggled on
