Carrier says my Galaxy phone purchased from Amazon is locked

So I purchased my Samsung galaxy phone on Amazon but for sum reason my phone company keeps saying the phones locked but when I look up the imei number it says it's unlock so I'm stuck dunno what to do help

Maybe it's not truly unlocked. For example, I bought an at&t Galaxy s6 from Amazon once. Since I bought it cash, I still had to reach out to at&t to get the unlock code and unlock myself before I used it on a different carrier. Hope this helps.

I never had an issue buying a phone through Amazon before she does have to authorize some security stuff or factory reset it hopefully that will help

Amazon takes one's word for it that the phones they take in trade in and sell as used that the phone is in usable condition and completely unlocked, not blacklisted and released from any accounts they may be attached to.  She should return it and get something else.  I understand people are on budgets, but buying used has inherent problems and should be avoided.  In the past, before the aggressive anti-theft measures, it was not so important if a phone was not logged out of accounts, as just signing into your own accounts would make the phone yours.  As for whether the phone is locked or not, those IMEI lookups aren't always accurate, and saying it's unlocked could just mean it's not blacklisted.  Personally, with all the sophisticated hacking going on these days, I would be afraid whoever put the phone up for sale would have embedded malware or trackers on  it.
