Phone charging says to check cable and will take over 3 hours?

Hello folks. 

 
I'm having an issue with my Samsung A52 5g phone, when I plug in the charging cable it shows a message that reads charging in three hours or more also it reads please check charging cable. When I unplug the cable and re plug again serveral time it works after 2 or 3 tries. I was wondering if this is common or if someone has an idea or a solution. Much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Hey y'all. I did change charging cables and it worked. My phone is charging normally fine. Thank you all for your advice

@XEEMON Sorry to say it sounds like your cable could be going bad i would suggest trying a new cable
