Playstore asking for password to update

My phone say it's updated but my Google playstore seem like it's trying to update itself but asking to set up a password or fingerprint. What is going on with that? I be resetting the app to make sure I'm not messing up anything.

Seems like a google glitch. I have been through the same thing several times. I close the app and open it again and that seems to work.

Keep it closed and try again later, there is no setting adjustment to stop it, it's a real annoyance.

That's the only thing that works, but I'm trying to figure out why is it doing that on my end? To me it seems like it's trying to update like an iPhone because that brand uses that type of security. Makes me wonder are Samsung and iPhone trying to combine or something?

The app store is probably crashing

Did you accidentally log out of your Google account?  If your phone is not logged into Google, you will be asked for your password every time you try to do something.
