 ***Issue is RESOLVED****

I went from AT-T to Verizon and also upgraded my phone, turned off RCS on the old device and I can't get it past setting up. I've had Google messages on the last couple previous phones in with the same phone number with minor problems that always resolved its own issues. That's not happening this time.

What can I do to get it work, I've tried everything online so far. I'll also add I can disable RCS via phone number because for some reason I can't receive the code and it was already switched off on the old device anyways, also on Google it's stuck on the auto verification is pending when that's never happened before. Verified my actual phone number but that's stuck and so is RCS

And check your number is correct, and Auto-verify is on.  Mine was set to off.  When you enable auto-verify, if may take a couple of minutes and refreshes before the verify timestamp updates.  Then go into your message app, chat features, disable and then re-enable and wait.

I had to also clear storage from Carrier Services and Messages, but I had an issue with RCS chat being associated with

Number is correct and the auto verify has been toggled on since last week but never actually gone through, it's weird because my phone number above the auto verify says it's verified but under the manage your auto verification settings it's just saying "auto verification is pending and may take some time.." and it's been like that since last week, can't get it to do anything else other than pending.

I don't have carrier services, I'm I did switch rcs chat off on the old phone because they said if I did that then I wouldn't have issues but unfortunately I still do lol

I have a couple contacts that I message, one is with Verizon and other AT&T. My message to Verizon contact is always RCS message and AT&T message is sms. I don't turn on or doing any settings at all. These messages stay in the same format, whether Wi-Fi or mobile services.

Cheers

Did I see anyone even try to dump or clear all app data for Google messages, or attempt to do an uninstall and reinstall of Google messages. Those are the easiest and most straightforward approaches?

Also make sure you do a force stop prior to clearing

So , to answer the next question, NO that will not delete your messages as they are stored in a different location

This was one of the first things I had done and it fixed nothing. I stopped messing with it and left the RCS off from that message till a hour ago, switched it on to see if it would connect, message went from setting up to connecting with a ! Near it and then switched to connected in green. Before this I had sent multiple feedbacks with the log and a screenshot attached for both Google messages and my verification on my actual Google account(still stuck on pending whole google message fixed itself)
And 2 days after it started working again

Glad it's resolved, I have had similar issues in the past but not as of lately. Google has to really fix this process as it can be a sloppy poorly implemented process.
