What is the IMS Service?

I would like to know what the IMS service is?

Why does it have permission to record calls?

Is there any way to remove it, if it is not important?

I tried that but turning off notifications is not allowed (greyed out) in the three apps you mention.

I have unwanted silent notification of MOVISTAR RCS CHAT that I do not want.

Why is IMS Service being used a a marketing tool for Movistar. 

If it is to be used a marketing tool the phone user must be able to turn this off.

But will affect the function of the phone if turned as per the S8 or 9 solution? It started with the update 14/10/20. Let's get a honest solution to the problem, do an update fix, we spend a lot of money on our phones we should get better service. This seems to be a problem over a variety of Samsung phones. I don't want to go to Apple, but.

IMS  IS GOOD. It is required for SIP over 4G, which is digital voice, or VOLTE. Conventional voice calls are made over 4G, but fall back to 3G for the voice component. To create greater bandwidth for digital protocols, 3G is being eliminated for use in cellular telephone, and will be reserved for low-bandwidth, legacy IoT communication in critical applications such as security, medical, seismic, mining, remote control, and emergency alert, including 911 service.

Beginning 1/2021, devices without IMS operating will be data-only. By 2022, no mobile cellular device lacking IMS will register on any US nationwide carrier network. Certain other nations are that way now.

is there away to enable it on note 20ultra 5g for video calls. my Samsung pre-loaded app won't video call unless it's duo whom I hate.
