ComputersI am using a Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge.
Snapdragon(R) X Elite - X1E84100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPU 4.20 GHz
64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor
Windows 11
I have an install download pending in Win - Update that is showing an error in the update description. The update actually did download with the error once. The display went black, and I wasn't able to reboot the system. I went to System Recovery/Advanced Options and clicked on my System Restore file and was able to restore the system to normal operation.
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. - System Hardware Update - 7/22/2024
Download error - 0xc0870010 (Note the old date)?
Now, after the system restore the same pending download file with the error noted in the description is pending download again. Obviously, I don't want this pending download to install again and cause boot issues again. I currently have Win-Updates paused to prevent the download.
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. - System Hardware Update - 7/22/2024
Download error - 0xc0870010 (Note the old date)?
I just want to kill or delete this pending (system install).
Any help would be appreciated.

ComputersYou can run the built in Windows Update troubleshooter https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-update-troubleshooter-19bc41ca-ad72-ae67-af3c-89...
or you can download the "show or hide" Windows update tool to prevent the troublesome update from showing or downloading. https://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagca...
I have used this tool extensively in the past and keep it on my desktop. It should work with Windows 11 because all it does is read which updates are available and provides a means to not have the problematic ones (or ones you don't want) to download.

ComputersSpecific Samsung system hardware update from July 2024 is causing boot issues, likely due to compatibility issues with your Galaxy Book4 Edge's ARM-based Snapdragon processor. Here’s how you can remove or block this specific update to avoid further issues:
Pause the Windows Update Service: Open the Services app (you can find this by typing “Services” in the Start menu search). Find "Windows Update" in the list, right-click on it, and choose to stop it. This will pause Windows Update temporarily so you can make changes.
- Clear the Update Cache Files: Open File Explorer and go to this location: C >Window >Software distribution. Inside this folder, you’ll see files and folders that store update files. Select everything inside the folder and delete it. This step removes previously downloaded updates that may be causing issues.
Restart the Windows Update Service: Go back to the Services app, right-click on "Windows Update" again, and select the option to start it. This will turn Windows Update back on with a clean slate, ready to check for updates as needed.
This process clears out the downloaded files for the problematic update, helping prevent it from reinstalling.
