I purchased it to use as an external HD on my Mac mini. It does detect it and shows up in the Disk Utility. It does not show up in the Magician Software. I looked on Youtube and it seems I have to allow access to my kernel to allow this software to work with Mac. I tried to use my PC to update the firmware but when I installed Magician it showed up with a lot off over lapping fonts. It also does not show the 990 EVO. It's the same as the Mac. Magician only shows the system drive. I tried to restart it and then it asked if I wanted to open an unsigned app. I can't believe Samsung does not sign their drives. I ejected the drive and reset my PC and Mac.
Do I really need to update this or can I just use it? Why couldn't I just use it without allowing access to my system kernel? Why is the app not digitally signed? Why was the fonts overlapping in the Magician it said it was the most updated version?
