Talk to text repeating messages

So every time I send a message using talk to text, after I send the message it copies the message and puts it back into the text box. When I try to send another message it pastes the prior message I sent back into my current message and just adds what I'm saying now onto the end of the old message in my text box. I even sent a message, left the app completely, went in to send her another message and the prior message was back in my text box. What's up with this??? It's literally the most annoying thing, especially when u spend pretty much $2000 on the phone

I hate this and it's so awkward in conversations, whenever I talk into it. Someone please answer

Hey grim51, Welcome to the Community! Wow, that looks really frustrating! 

Are you using Google Messages?

Try this, Open the Messages app and tap on your profile icon to open the Messages Settings. 

Tap on Voice message transcription to see if the setting is toggled on. Try turning it off and test.

I have the same issue with Google messages
