Having symbols on same keys above letters on opening screen has always been very convenient when typing by saving a little time, and preventing errors when switching to second screen just to type one symbol then return to first screen to complete message. My iPhone buddies were jealous. How can I get it back?
I assume that you are using the Samsung keyboard. In your keyboard settings, check to see that you have alternative characters turned on. From the keyboard, click the settings wheel, then choose layout and make sure the slider for alternative characters is on.
