Galaxy Note PhonesHello, We know it can be frustrating not knowing when you are receiving notifications. You've taken several steps for getting the sounds to work already. There are some additional steps you can try.
1. Check and Increase Notification Volume Level
To do so, go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume. Increase the slider next to Notifications by moving it to right.
2. Disable Separate App Sound
Open Settings > Sounds and vibration > Separate app sound
3. Reset Settings
To reset settings, go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset all settings
Doing so will not remove your personal data from your phone. However, all settings such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, app permissions, etc., will be reset.
4. Test the phone in Safe Mode to determine if a 3rd party app is interfering. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/
If these steps are not helpful, we recommend having the phone evaluated by an authorized service technician. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/ or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

Galaxy Note PhonesI've also noticed I'll get the sounds correctly over Bluetooth headset. Very frustrating.
