Solution to Samsung Messages

It's happening, Samsung Messages will (likely) be gone in just over a month. The thing is, Google owns "WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication), an open-source framework that allows web browsers and mobile apps to communicate with audio, video, and data in real-time without needing extra plugins or downloads." All text messaging, including Samsung and Apple, use it.
Is there anything we can do? I'm waiting until the end, but then I'll download Google messages for basic texting needs (codes for businesses, appointment reminders, banking needs, etc). Then, get a free account with one of the following, and convince your family and friends to do the same. These programs are superior to regular text messaging:
Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp / Viber, Discord, or Lark.

Has anyone used Fossify messages or WizeSMS?

I'm looking for alternative text message apps that will provide similar features as Samsung message app. I don't want to use Google.

The research I've done said Fossify messages or WizeSMS would be comparable.

Pros and cons for either would be great or other message app suggestions people may have.

Thanks!

I get that you don't want to use Google Messages, but it is the only one (that I know of) that supports RCS messages. If your reason for not using Google Messages is privacy, it's not a worry. You are using an Android phone; Google already has your data if you have a Google account. I can understand the frustration, but it's easier to just use the one that Samsung recommends. Also, it will work more seamlessly with multiple devices if you have a tablet or book.

Really it is exactly because Google *doesn't* have your text messages (yet) that this is happening.
As for RCS, it is about as useful as an umbrella under water.

I don't care about RCS. I've been completely fine with what Samsung message provides. I like the layout and formatting. I don't need anything more. And yes, privacy concerns are a HUGE problem for me.

Unlike the rest of Samsung's software (which ranges between meh and utterly terrible) their messaging app actually had some useful features others do not have. That said, there's no shortage of SMS apps in the store that are better than Google's spyware.

Yep Google messages is garbage, it has a couple things that are nice, but doesn't have several key functions as Samsung Messages
