I think dropping the Micro SD card slot was worst decision made by Samsung from Customer's prespective. That was one of the big reason Samsung having upper hand against Apple.
They dropped it in favor of giving you more storage and to make room for advanced components and a larger battery. If you want the SD slot, you can get an A series or any number of other brands of Android phones. Also, with the advent of USB-C flash drives it's easy to transfer data/photos off the for preservation or use on other devices.
Now that I understand exactly how having a micro SD card affects speed to some apps, like the camera app, I understand and completely agree with not having one. Microsd is slower than internal memory, therefore, making picture taking sluggish. I noticed this multiple times when I would remove my microsd card to transfer things.. Then I used the first phone without out.. It felt so much better.. It took me one day to be OK with it. That fast.
