Galaxy Note PhonesI was a Galaxy user for about 10 years (starting with the S1 until the S7) and one thing that always drove me crazy was how my phones would slow down after a year or two. I eventually switched to iPhone with the 12 Pro, and 5 years later it still feels just as smooth as the day I got it.
Now I’m considering going back to Android with the S26, but I don’t want to deal with the same old performance issues if Samsung hasn’t really fixed this.
For those of you who’ve stuck with Samsung in recent years, how does long-term performance hold up? Are they still prone to slowing down or is it finally on par with iOS for longevity?

All phones, including iPhones, are prone to slow-downs as they age. In fact, Apple intentionally throttles the performance of older phones to improve battery life as it degrades over time.
The extremely powerful snapdragon chips and high(er) capacity batteries inside of today's Samsung flagships help to provide much more longevity. Extended software support is also a great benefit to today's phones.
