Gallery ending on Samsung s10+

So are they really about to get rid of the regular gallery on samsung phone and replace it with onedrive? If so, WHY?

@lova1 the Gallery isn't going anywhere. 

What is changing is that the backup of the Gallery to Samsung Cloud is ending. Samsung has done integration work with Microsoft so that you can automate the backup to OneDrive.

Other forms of backup exist also, Google Photos, manually backing up to a PC, etc.
