The first would be a battery saver that as the phone gets to a certain battery level that, if enabled, it could really tone done the processor to use very little power, like we could use one or two cores instead of all of them.

The second idea would be a setting that we could toggle from low to high, on how much processing power we want our phones to use. I don't use my phone phone often as i don't do a lot of tasks. What if i could scale my processors to 75% or 50%. They might be slower but phones are so quick i doubt that we would see the difference in speeds.

@kinglarbear "That way when we lose power because we are in texas and this is normal here" where in TX is it normal to lose power?

I live in TX and rarely lose power. If it does happen it is because of a severe storm.

Sounds like a very specific request.

I'm in fort worth on the east side and our power flickers and cuts out weekly. Maybe not for long but it gets annoying and during any real storm it is out for a few days at a time

That’s a brilliant idea! :mobile_phone: A possible solution could be a "Smart Emergency Mode" where your phone stays in airplane mode to conserve battery but automatically wakes up at set intervals (e.g., every 15 minutes) to check for important messages. This mode could allow selective app refresh, like messaging apps, and even have a priority override if an emergency flag is triggered. Samsung (or a third-party app) could integrate this feature with battery-saving options to ensure minimal power usage while keeping loved ones connected during outages. Definitely a lifesaving innovation!

Exactly. It comes on, sends and receives messages periodically and texts you that the other person has power and then we only need to text each other directly during actual emergencies

@kinglarbear Just an FYI. The BIG energy user on a smart phone is the display. If you can keep the display off, you will conserve a lot of battery.

If you want a phone that barely sips power, look for a phone with a minimal display and no smart features. The old flip phones come to mind.

Not sure why east FW has flaky power like that. Is there an issue with Oncor or your electrical provider?

It is a low income area, and so our system needs a lot of work

Or, they can implement more features for the multi thousand dollar phone that we buy. I don't want a flip phone, i want a smarter smart phone, and they can do what I'm asking, it is just software

Just my thoughts but I don't see your idea as functional
