Everytime I put my s9+ on silent the notifications stay on silent when I turn the sound back on. This only seem to affect the notification sounds (no sound though the sound bar is at full), I am still getting sounds for calls. The issue resolved once I restart the phone. Is there a fix for this problem?

Do you have any lock screen apps? Do you have any themes running?

To wipe the cache partition:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Are you using any 3rd party apps to control the notification sounds? Have you tried wiping the cache partition?

No, just through the notification panel. How do I clear the partition?

Same issue here on a German S9+. Sometimes I am not certain, if this is related to Instagram/Whatsapp sound settings (volume for stories and voice messages), cause these apps often does not respond to the Android's settings.
