I can't wait to drop Samsung. The staggered updates sales tactic is a bad way to run a business an for engendering loyalty.

Galaxy S PhonesOh, please. Nothing is stopping you from dropping them any time you want to leave. Staggered updates are because everything cannot be pushed at one time and the updates are carrier controlled anyway.

Staggered updates happen with ALL Android phones in the US, not just Samsung.
First, the update has to be adapted by each phone manufacturer for their custom version of Android.
Then the carriers have to adapt it and get all their carrier bloatware working with it. (One big reason why I always try to buy an unlocked phone)
If you want to get away from the staggered update schedule, the easiest way is to switch to iPhone.
