Text message not showing up

I recently got a s9+ my messages aren't coming up and showing on the status bar like they did my note 8, there popping up as chat heads,  how can I get that function off? I've searched everywhere,  I tried looking it up but couldn't find it by that

 Its super annoying and driving me crazy... Help please!

Yes, still can't get it to go away.

I would check if smart pop-up view is off.
Device settings>Advanced features>smart pop-up view.

Which Messages app are you running? Samsung or Google Messages?

The one that came on the phone. I think I got it fixed
