@J_Bug It sounds like your keyboard is in a German (or central European) layout instead of the US layout. Try this:

  1. Open Phone settings
  2. Click on General management
  3. Click on Samsung Keyboard settings
  4. Click on Languages and types
  5. Click on English (US)
  6. Make sure it is set to Qwerty. ... it sounds like yours is set to Qwertz.

Sounds like an issue with the phone. Download another keyboard like g board or something if you don't want to get a new phone. If the y is still in the wrong spot you need a new phone
