Since the UI 6.1 update, the icon to record a voice memo in text messages has been replaced by 🙂 icon. How can I text a voice memo recording on my Android 14?

My messages by Samsung don't have it. I'm going to see if Google messages offer itand yes, it does have a tap button to speak. I think I like Google messages better now.

The icon that enables voice memo recording in a text message reappeared after I uninstalled a Samsung engine app which I never downloaded. This must have occurred during the 6.1 UI update. I'm glad I was able to resolve the issue.

Even my mobile Digits app offers voice recording not Samsung, that is weird.

I'm not talking about the keyboard's microphone used for voice typing. My issue was with the voice recording memo function in the text application. Wish I could send a screenshot but I don't see an option to attach a file.

We all understood what you were referring to, @Bonedaddy4ever said that Samsung took that feature away.  Google messages has that feature, as well as the speech to text mic in the right place.
