Some folks want face recognition with masks. Yes, it's not as secure as face recognition without masks, but the facial rec software should still be able to identify the eyes, ears, hair, and forehead shape.
If you don't want facial recognition with a mask, just don't register your face with a mask.
There are parts of the world that use masks even before COVID, and this feature would be valuable for them even when the pandemic is over 🙂
