Black screen problems started this morning right after I shut off my alarm and tried to check notifications—my Samsung S21 screen went completely black. Despite this, the phone still works.
I can feel vibrations, restart it, enter my SIM code and phone unlock code, and even use Samsung Dex to back up data. I could also take photos and see them on Dex, but the screen on the phone itself remains black.
What could be causing this? Is the screen dead, or is it a software issue?
@romromillys Have you tried booting it in safe mode? If it works properly while booted in safe mode, you know it is 3rd party software causing the issue.
