Prior to UI 6.1 the keyboard button, when enabled was located on the right side of the navigation bar. Following installation of UI 6.1, it moved to the left side, and only visible when the Samsung keyboard is not present. When enabled, and using alternate keyboards (e.g., GBoard, SwiftKey, etc.) as default, the keyboard button is in lower left side of navigation screen. It is visible because the microphone button is not present.  As soon as the keyboard is changed to the Samsung keyboard as default, the microphone appears, removing the keyboard button. Even when the microphone button is turned off, I guess it's placeholder hides/overwrites the keyboard button. Recommend moving the keyboard button back to the right side of the navigation bar so there is no longer interference.

Samsung keyboard with microphone in left corner.

ā€ƒGboard keyboard (could also be SwiftKey keyboard) with keyboard button in left corner. Prior to 6.1, this was in right corner.

I agree with you @userIcSLywFb1q. This should be on the right side of the navigation bar. Most of us are Right-handed and After s21, the phones are large enough to have difficulty using in one-hand. For this, right side is more suitable.

What I think, they should give option where the button will be placed. Same for the Accessibility button.

Thanks this solved my problem. Spent ages at the Samsung store on Oxford street trying to resolve this with no joy.

At least I'm not the only one. Thanks for this post. Mine disappeared as well and I've spent several hours trying to get this figured out. Finally when I got it back, as you mentioned, it has changed sides and now it is over on the bottom left corner instead of the bottom right corner. After having it in the bottom right corner for years I'm finding it awkward to use. I was hoping there was a way to switch it back but apparently not. Thanks Samsung. I did your update and send my keypad changed and I wasted a lot of time trying to get it back to the way it was and still was not able to because evidently that's not possible after your update.

Just now my S22+ got updated and the Keyboard Button on the Navigation Bar now appears magically - albeit on the left instead of on the right as before.

Hallelujah!!

I've been searching for days to fix this. Thank you! I really hope Samsung does an update to fix this so that we can use this button to go back and forth from keyboard to voice input. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!! šŸ‘šŸ½

You can just long press the mic button and a option to select which button to keep will pop up.
