Galaxy S21Hello rene012,
We understand the front camera of your S21 is not functioning when on videocall or taking selfie photos. Try to restart your device. Make sure your device is up to date. Then, try to clear the data of the app in Settings>Apps>Camera>Storage>Clear data to reset the camera app.
Next, Press and hold Power and Volume up buttons until the Samsung logo disappears. Using volume keys, highlight Wipe cache partition.
Check that the app has the permissions to access the camera in your settings.
If you are having issues with all apps that use the camera try this.
Using Safe mode disables all downloaded apps and loads only the original software that came with your phone or tablet, allowing you to determine if the issue is caused by an app or with the phone or tablet.
Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode icon is displayed. Tap Safe mode to start your device in Safe mode. If you've entered Safe mode successfully, you'll see Safe mode displayed at the bottom of the screen. If the issue is no longer there a third party app is causing this> exit Safe mode by restarting device> Uninstall most recent apps until malicious app is uninstalled
The next thing to do is to back up your device and perform a Factory Data Reset. This reset will reset your device completely and you will complete the intial set up for your device. After you have backed up your device
Go to Settings> tap General Management> Reset> tap Factory Data Reset> tap Reset> Your phone will delete all data and you will start from initial set up.
If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician. For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options:
