You actually can, but it's convoluted. First you have to go to the Spotify tab. Then you have to tap one of the playists. It will then open Spotify, where you can choose from your own library.

You have to have the spotify app on your phone. Open Samsung music player. Across the top of the player are tabs, with spotify on the far left. When you go to that tab, you will see pre-selected playlists. Tap any one of them and it will open the Spotify app and then you can open your library. Or, you can just open the Spotify app and use the Spotify player.

You have to tap one of the playlists and it will open spotify or prompt you to download it. Once Spotify opens, you can choose from your library. The op was not asking to add his own playlists from spotify, but to link their account. Shouldn't matter anyway. One music player is just as good as the next, so whether you get to Spotify through Samsung music or just open Spotify, your music will still play.
