Hello! Samsung keyboard has replaced the mike with an input keyboard. If I want to use Google voice, I have to hit the input button and choose a GV, which is extremely annoying.

I don't want to use Samsung voice as it does not work nearly as well. I would just like the symbol on the corner to automatically be voice!

If Google voice typing is enabled, you dont have to switch the input method manually. When you tap the mic to speak, it will automatically switch to voice input. Or, you can just switch keyboards. When you enable the keyboard switcher, long pressing it will automatically put the mic on the nav bar, replacing the keyboard switching icon. If you have multiple keyboards enabled, the kebiard switcher will allow you to switch keyboards eithout going back into settings. If you do not intend to utilize other keyboards, regularly, you can just keep the mic showing.

There isn't a mic anymore. I have the symbol shown in the corner of my first screenshot. If I tap it I get the dialogue box asking me to choose keyboard or voice input.

You have to press and hold the keboard symbol to bring up the mic. Hold it til the mic appears. Similarly, once you have the mic up and want to enable the keyboard switcher, you would long press the mic.

I just have to push and hold the space bar to access voice to text automatically....no icon needed.

I use Google Keyboard, so I don't have to jump through hoops to get to the mic.

Choose voice input and you will get the mic. If you long press it, the mic will remain visible when the keyboard is active. That is the way it functions now.  As I said earlier, if you switch to Google keyboard, you won't have that issue, as the mic is where it should be and where you are used to it being.

See the previous responses for your solution. If you read through the responses before your post, you would have seen them.

Go into the settings. Go to general management/keyboard list and default then select the Samsung keyboard and scroll down to voice input. Make sure Google voice typing is selected.  This will keep Google voice as the default voice input when you use your Samsung keyboard and you will not have to select it each time.
