When upgrading do you lose any personalized settings on the phone?

You do lose your settings on your phone going to a new phone. For apps you can transfer/backup.

@Ellin IME, if you use Samsung's Smart Switch to transfer information from one phone to another, almost everything is transferred. The new phone ends up looking and acting just like the old phone.

Thank you, I won't be transferring myself, I let best buy do it for me so I know apps and stuff with transferr , was wondering about all my customizations, like good lock settings, color palette etc?

When I used Smart Switch to switch phones it kept my GoodLock apps and my settings in the Goodlock apps surprisingly
