As it says, edge panel to drag-to-size screen shot / oval capture / create a gif is gone!

Ya, it has been since the update. Samsung is eventually taking the edge panel away completely.

What that actually says is that the edge panels will still function if you already have them, but there will be no new edge panels. I interpret that message to mean that in OneUI 7 the edge panels will still exist (and will probably still have the default ones, as they have now), but only those and the ones you currently have will be available. If you delete any that you have downloaded, you will not be able to get them back, and there will be no new ones. So, you should probably download any that you think you may want now. I don't believe they will have to be active, they just have to already be on your phone. I actually still have the particular edge panel mentioned, and I have all the current updates.
