I use Yahoo-Email.  I would get "you got mail" to inform me of messages. Something has happened that I don't get that message any more. How do I get it to work again?   Thank you

If you don't turn that on, notification sounds for different apps won't be possible. The system notification sound will be the only one available.

Now do this:

   Settings  ≻
   Apps  ≻
⁃   Yahoo Mail App  ≻
   Notifications  ≻
Allow Notifications Must be On  ≻
   Notification  Categories  ≻
⁃   Click on "Mail from People" text.  ≻
(not the switch on / off)
⁃   Sound  ≻
⁃   Check if "You Got Mail" sound is available.

Did you get UI 6.1 recently ???

Make sure this is on:

   Settings  ≻
⁃   Notifications  ≻
⁃   Advanced Settings  ≻
⁃   Turn "Manage Notification
Categories for Each App" On .
