Galaxy S22

Awful update of one UI 6. Recently upgraded my s22 ultra to one UI 6 and I really wanna go back. Last time I wrote about the issues in the gallery app, video player in gallery app, and notification panel. After discovering more things about new update is that now I can't play my audio in 2 different Bluetooth speakers at once using media control. I also can't switch back and forth the audio from Bluetooth speaker to my phone speaker and to achieve this I either need to disconnect the speaker or turn off the Bluetooth. This is getting absurd, day by day. These are all my daily activities in life and samsung have completely messed things around and there is no going back. Very poor update from samsung especially at the time of Christmas and season of music. The developers of this  upgrade have arbitrarily made changes without thinking about the users.

Here are 3. The clarity is no more.20240118_171617_1000079680_1705619784.jpg20240115_201529_1000079424_1705367731.jpg20240115_163733_1000079387_1705355594.jpg

Some of these look like digital zooms... are they cropped? What zoom level were they taken at? The only zoom levels that will give ideal results are 3x and 10x. Anything else is a digital zoom that will degrade quality rapidly. Decent photos can usually be taken up to 30x though in good lighting. Can you show a photo with meta data so we can see the settings such as my example attached with 10x zoom? Please erase any personal info such as location. 1705785425260.jpg

Yes they have been cropped but why shouldn't I be able to do that?1705785850010.jpg1705785850050.jpg1705785850087.jpg

Cropping is fine, but it greatly lowers your resolution on any phone you buy as can be seen on picture 3 therefore looking blurry and pixelated

If you are shooting in 12mp you have 4000 x 3000 pixels to work with. Cropping took out down to 284,592 pixels to work with at 616x462 resolution resulting in loss of image. I suggest minimal crop on 12 mp images.

If you really want to crop, use the main sensor and set it to 200mp as you can crop to your heart's content with that many pixels. Attached is an example 200 mp crop with a circle to show where it is cropped in.

Sorry you are correct 108 on that device but that is still plenty for cropping. It works best in good light and you might loose some HDR at full resolution but it can do wonders if used right, files sizes will be large as well.

Also I might suggest shooting in RAW as you will get get greater dynamic range in your photos but you will ha e to edit them manually to get desired results.

I am willing to retry...again. Right now I am buried in 9 inches of snow and can't get out much but I will definetly give it a retry. I want it to work. Thank you for responding. I will be back with my results.

No worries! S22u is a great phone so hope things work out for you! Composition and lighting are the most important part of taking a photo so it will help more than cropping if you have the ability to control it. I took some great photos in Hawaii with my S22 Ultra so it is definitely capable!

So can I only change to 108 mp in regular photo mode? If I switch to pro or raw, I don't see that option.

Yes to 108. Raw allows up to 50 I believe
