can anyone help tell me what this symbol means please? It's got a lot of permissions and it's not a symbol I recognise or have seen anywhere on the Internet. It's a green phone symbol with a green share sign next to it. It has used permissions such as Contacts and Microphone during a phone call, but isn't used on all phone calls, just certain ones.

Check if anything is enabled under device admin apps in the settings, if so, disable it unless you fully trust the app. Seems like whatever it is has full control.

Thanks  @userella . Nothing active under Device Admin apps. No idea what it is and why it appears to be activated during some (not all) phone calls. I've searched for that icon online and can't find it either. I can't disable it (and I'm not even sure if I should!) because it's down as a system app with no ability to amend.

The blue folder icon means it's for the secure folder. The phone icon with the share symbol is due to being "shared" with the native or unsecured phone app. Some of your other native samsung apps might have it as well (internet, messages, etc.). But I don't see anything you need to worry about from my end.

Just my 2 cents but notice it's on wifi the phone icon can appear during that time not every wifi connection shows it on mine I wouldn't be too concerned on it just make sure your permissions are correct
