Galaxy S22If you still have the S20, you can use Smart Switch and selectively restore only your messages and photos and data. When restoring messages, it should restore any messages contained in the old backup but not delete any new messages. To my knowledge, messages and photos and personal data are not contained in the cloud backup. They would be contained in a complete backup to an external device made using Smart Switch. So, if you have an old backup of an old phone in the cloud and are hoping to recover old messages and files, you may be out of luck. But if you still have the old device, you should have no problem.
