I just Updated my phone to Latest Firmware on my S22 Ultra. The display just lost it's ability to use 120Hz. Out of Warranty.

But why it will happen after a firmware upgrade?

Submitting Feedback is not a solution. A lot people have the same problem after update. It is in the forum. They would suggest to take the phone to Service center where they will just ask for Screen Replacement. But my question is before the udpate everything was fine. Why just updating the phone will damage the display? I need a solution.

It's pretty well accepted that these display issues are caused by a faulty part that is getting slowly exposed by heat. It's no fault of the user, and random who it affects. But it's not actually a bug in the software included in the update. Instead it's the heat generated during the update process that exposes the hardware weakness (I forget the exact part/connection that is failing). It been happening on Samsung manufactured displays for a few years now (even the ones used by other brands). It got so bad with OnePlus devices that it prompted them to institute free lifetime screen replacements for OnePlus phones sold in India

My S22 received the October update today, and I have confirmed it is still running at 120 Hz in adaptive display mode. Could it be some other app that is conflicting with the display driver on your phone? For the record, I am using Nova Prime launcher on a carrier unlocked Xfinity Mobile phone.

No Conflict requa. This problem doesn't happen to all the s22u. But a lot of people have reported this issue. This is a hardware problem which is a manufacturing defect or the product design is responsible.
