Sorry but if you’ve forgotten your pattern to unlock your phone you would need to preform a factory reset to erase the pattern.

Patterns are the easiest security measure to forget, and if you make it too easy, then anyone can unlock your phone.  Never use a pattern.

For the life of me, I don't understand this. How many times a day does one have to put in a pin, pattern, or password that it gets forgotten.

Especially if one does not have extend unlock on.  Then they have to enter it every time their screen times out.  I don't even understand why, if they are prone to forgetting, they don't write it or draw it somewhere.

Even with extended unlock if you don't open your phone for a certain amount of time it locks.

Yes, but you have to enter it less often. If one does not have it on, then they are entering it every 5-10 minutes.

I’ve used the same pin for years and don’t think I've ever forgotten it in the 20+ years that I’ve used it.

Me too, when it went to 6 numbers I just a t used the first 2 numbers.
